Blogging For THIS Noob
Blogging for the first time
Creating Sections
One of the most important things I have noticed when looking at other blogs is how the separation of ideas belong side by side with a visual aid for the reader. This may be with a picture that is relatable to the idea of the blog, shown in Keleco's "My Top 10 Most Anticipated Books of 2020" or maybe even just a tiny, noticeable space in between thoughts like Michelle Johnsons "Train Your Brain" blog on perfectionism.
Gearing the Blog Towards an Audience
In class we discussed that different types of blogs serve different purposes. For example Shaun Andrews "How To Up Your Game With CenturyLink's Dynamic Connections" blog was to advertise a company but written in a way that connects to people on a more personal level. Not all blogs have to be this way. I'm coming to find that blogs can be used for business purposes or personal purposes but the way in which the blogs are written and structured is the backbone of finding a specific audience.
Have Fun With the Experience!
As mentioned in the previous section, the personal blogs seem to be the most satisfying because of authors like Dr.Vrooman, who can write something for the pleasure and knowledge of others, all the while enjoying the time writing it by using jokes and goofy pictures seen in his blog "Good, Free, Sources for Photos That You Can Reuse". Not every blog has to be serious and at the same time, not every blog has to be goofy. We can make it our own, individual, expressive page!
Moving Forward..
These are a few of the things I have learned thus far when blogging and found them to be the most important. While writing this and playing with the whole internet thing, I actually caught myself having fun and enjoying the new things I have learned to do. Here's to me and all the future progression I anticipate to happen on this blog.
